As a man with several family members dependent on medically implanted devices, these types of stories both scare and infuriate me. Building a secure medical device is not difficult, but most medical equipment companies do not take the threat seriously and live with a mindset of “security by obscurity”. Those days are long behind us and these devices need to be protected with a strong sense of diligence and due care.
