Given the clear and undeniable desire to collect/control/archive end user information built into Windows 10 and all its variants, is anyone surprised that Bill Gates has chosen to side with the FBI in this ongoing privacy debate. In his interview, Mr. Gates frankly over-simplifies the situation and hides behind what he claims to be a strict interpretation of the court order. Microsoft has remained largely silent publicly concerning this debate, but I would wager that Bill Gates represents the unspoken internal view of many in Redmond.
