Judge Ruling Favors Financial Institutions in Target Lawsuits

This is a completely intriguing situation from a liability perspective.  With this judicial ruling, the door has been left open for financial institutions to seek their pound of flesh from the merchants in the event of a breach.  Combined with the penalties associated with PCI and the financial losses stemming from reputation damage, there has never been more motivation to avoid data loss and breach situations.
