I believe these are generally good steps on the part of the PCI Council to ensure the safety and security of pin pads and other entry devices. I know that adoption will take time, but the days of slow migrations are in the past if we are to take cardholder data security seriously. Retailers cannot plan for 5 to 7 to 10 year depreciation schedules when it comes to these devices anymore. The threats are simply evolving too quickly.
