This article was certainly preaching to the choir when it came across my news feed.  IT gets so wrapped up in creating that hardened outer shell of preventative controls that it loses sight of the activity and potential threats floating around in the soft, squishy center.  Layered defense combined with network monitoring and end point management can give you true visibility into your environment and definitely help you sleep a little more soundly at night.
