There is speculation on top of speculation that this outage in London is related to a cyber attack. This article by Sophos cites most of the credible information to date including a report that the server outage was related to a power failure. That said, you cannot help but wonder what failures could lead to such a significant outage in a world and a specific industry containing so much system redundancy.
